Application Checklist

Your journey to becoming a UTEP Miner starts here! Follow this checklist to complete your application and take the next step toward joining the UTEP community.

    2. Choose:

      1. Four-year institution

      2. First -year Freshman

  • Transcripts must be submitted by High School directly to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment to be considered official. Transcripts will not be accepted in person or if they are unofficial.

Applicants who attend a Texas public high school should request transcripts to be sent electronically through the TREx system managed by the Texas Education Agency by their high school Registrar/Counselor.

If TREx is not available, high schools may mail your transcript to the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, although these submission methods are not preferred and may result in processing delays.

  • Ask testing agencies to send official reports of scores you earned on the SAT or ACT exams. (You must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores if you are an international applicant.)

Official SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), ACT (American College Test), GED (Test of General Educational Development), and/or TSI (Texas Success Iniative) scores must be sent to the Office of Admissions.

When you ask the testing agency to send your scores, use the codes the agencies have designated for the university:

    1. SAT School Code — 6829

    2. ACT School Code — 4223

You may submit as many score reports as you like. If you submit more than one, we will consider the score from the single test date that will benefit you the most. We will not, however, “superscore,” or combine scores from different test dates (a critical reading score from one test date with a mathematics score from another test date, for example).

  • Submit proof that you have received the shot within the last 5 years to meningitis@utep.edu

If it has been more than 5 years, a booster must be administered.

  • You can download UTEP GO on your iOS and Android device.

On this app you can check your application status, view your class schedule, check your financial aid status, explore UTEP’s interactive map, and so much more.
